SuperGreenMe – 'Facebook for Greenies'
SuperGreenMe.com uses online multi-media to harness eco enthusiasm, showcase environmental conservation, and create a network of sustainable living collaboration.
SuperGreenMe is interested in engaging with the State Government to discuss:
• Partnering to promote Barrier Reef sustainability and reef conservation education through the Reef Reality Series.
• Offering free environmental school curriculum to Qld Education.
• Promoting the existing sustainability achievements in schools around Qld
• Promoting water and energy saving initiatives conducted by the State Government.
Social Networking
• Organisations (such as QCC, Clean Up Australia and Steve Irwin’s Wildlife Warriors) connect with members and virally promote their conservation campaigns.
• Students use the site to publish research/assignments, profile their capabilities, showcase their community involvement and broaden their network. The Students profiles are maintained during their studies, and then can be used to present themselves, their work and community involvement to prospective employers.
• Businesses use the free promotional tools to showcase their products and services to a green community using social media.
• Individuals visit SuperGreenMe to learn, discuss, share, educate and be entertained!
Ecopedia – Article Directory
SuperGreenMe has over 1,100 articles published in the ‘Ecopedia’ section (anyone can become a publisher) which presents sustainable living information, issues awareness, national park and endangered animal profiles. This is a great resource which is used to educate people about sustainability and promote conservation through showcasing the beauty in our natural environment.
Coming Soon - The Reef Reality Series
The Reef Reality is an online TV series produced and presented by SuperGreenMeTV and filmed by The Wildlife Man. QCC, Australian Marine Conservation Society, Project AWARE and Reef Check are just a few of the Organisations on board to support the series. The wonders of over 70 species of Great Barrier Reef marine life will be presented individually, with one species episode per day being released on the web from February 2010.
Goals of The Reef Reality Series are:
• Encourage conservation by promoting the wonders of the reef and its marine life
• Raise awareness of endangered species living on the reef and the cause of their population decline
• Promote sustainable living tips to help us protect the reefs and oceans as a part of our daily lives
• Point out how our actions lead to reef and ocean pollution and destruction
Each episode will be accompanied by a written article profiling the species, including its habitat, species vulnerability and health, greatest threats and how individuals can help.
