GardenAngelTM. Your source

You’ve put a lot into your garden, and now you can have a source of garden-ready water.
With the uncertainty of drought and the growing importance of taking responsibility for our environmental footprint, there’s a lot that you can do in your own backyard - especially if you love and cherish your garden. Healthy, water-hungry lawns consume carbon dioxide. So does every tree, shrub and flower. Your garden habitat is an important part of the environment (as well as a wondrous source of beauty, escape and passion), and now you can take care of it in a way that is suitable for; perennials and annuals, fruit trees and grasses, exotics, citrus, shrubs, flowers, and natives. All you need to begin is a laundry.

Let your laundry take care of your garden.

The GardenAngel is a safe and easy way to water your garden without worrying about water restrictions, or when it might rain next.
It’s economical, environmentally responsible and, unlike raw grey water, it will not harm your precious soil, plants, lawn, trees or shrubs. In simple terms, it conditions your laundry water so it is ready for the sub-surface irrigation of your garden or lawn.

What is Grey Water?
Grey water is water that drains from your shower, bath, hand basin and laundry. The average Australian household wastes over 700 litres of grey water down the drain each and every day and a lot of it comes from the laundry. While this water is easily accessible, it does contain many contaminants such as bacteria, sodium and phosphorus. It is also turbid and has a very high pH. Using raw grey water in your garden can damage its eco system and in the long term make your soil hydrophobic (i.e. it won’t absorb water). That’s why the GardenAngel is the responsible and easy answer for laundry grey water re-use.
of garden-ready water.
How much water can I use on my garden each week?
A household doing 8 loads of laundry per week can reuse approximately 58,000L per year. This is roughly the same amount of water that could be captured in a 5000L water tank with 9 significant rainfalls per year
(Please see our website for further facts and figures).

Is the water SUITA BLE for my garden?
Yes. The GardenAngel is a grey water conditioning system designed specifically for sub-surface garden use.
• It removes phosphates so it is highly suitable for Australian natives, flowers and fruit trees.
• It balances salt so it’s good for the long-term health of your soil.
• It adjusts the pH of the water to a mid-range, similar to rain or tap water.
• It kills most of the bacteria, viruses and other “nasties” in the water.
• The water is filtered to remove lint, hair or other contaminants so it can be safely pumped through an under-mulch dripper system (the most effective way of watering an Australian garden or lawn).

Approximate figure based on an average of 60L per front loader wash and 140L per top loader wash.

Is there anything else like the GardenAngel?

There are other products available, but they are either full treatment systems or they simply divert or pump raw grey water out onto the garden. The GardenAngel is unique because it cost-effectively conditions the grey water before you use it - and that makes a big difference to your garden, flowers, trees and lawn. The secret is in the two agents you add to the grey water once it enters the GardenAngel. When these are combined in the system they convert raw grey water into gardenready water.

Who makes the GardenAngel?

Perpetual Water is an Australian company founded in 2003 and is known worldwide for its patented grey water treatment technologies. You may have seen Perpetual Water win an episode of ABC TV’s New Inventors in 2005 with their Home® unit and again in May 2007 when Managing Director, John Grimes appeared on the New Inventors Water Special. John Grimes is also Chairman of the Australian Grey Water Institute (AGWI).

How does it look and where is it installed?

The GardenAngel sits outside your laundry and is easy to setup - simply connect the outlet hose from your washing machine to the GardenAngel, plug in the power cable, put the drainage pipe over an external drain and you’re ready to go. Attach the garden-ready water pipe to a sub-surface irrigation dripper system and you have a source of garden-ready water. The GardenAngel measures 1.3m long x 1.1m high x 0.36m deep and weighs approx. 80 kilos. It’s made from galvanized powder-coated steel for durability and comes in cream as standard.
