Delivering high-performance and impressive fuel efficiency, Ford's patented EcoBoost engine technology has arrived in Australia giving drivers a new environmentally conscious option for the road.

On sale since July, Mondeo leads the local launch of EcoBoost technology with a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine offering more precise fuel delivery and low-inertia turbocharging to deliver improved power and performance, while at the same time using less fuel and emitting fewer CO2 emissions.

"We believe that these engines will provide customers with a genuinely attractive alternative to diesel or hybrid power units, delivering highly competitive fuel efficiency and cost of ownership, along with the responsive performance and wide rev range that have made petrol engines the favoured choice for so many drivers."

A more fuel efficient drive

Ford EcoBoost delivers the performance of a larger capacity engine with the fuel economy of a much smaller unit, meaning you don't have to comprise on power in your bid to be more environmentally conscious.

By combining direct injection and turbocharging, EcoBoost engine technology can deliver reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of up to 20 per cent compared to conventional petrol engines.

The 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine is available on Mondeo Zetec and Titanium hatch models.
