At the AustCham Australia-China Business Awards, held in Hong Kong on 27 October, environmental and engineering solutions firm OTEK has scooped the prestigious Business Promotion Award.

The AustCham Westpac Australia-China Business Awards 2011 recognise and celebrate the excellence of Australian business across Greater China, and the Business Promotion Award specifically, recognises a local business in greater China that has shown excellence in promoting and marketing an Australian product or service. The judging panel looked for companies who demonstrated innovation, sustainable growth and a commitment to the Greater China Market.

OTEK's Chinese base in Beijing, with support from Australia, has seen various Chinese entities seeking out its leading Australian technology and expertise in the environmental engineering and remediation solutions area. It works closely with Chinese governments at all levels along with major Chinese partners and suppliers.

Commenting on the win, OTEK Director Grant Scott, said, "We are proud to receive this recognition of the hard work and dedication the OTEK team have put in to helping the strong Chinese investment drive in sustainability and the environment. The cutting edge technology and solutions we can offer have helped set OTEK apart from other providers across the world."

The award was accepted by Mr. Grant Scott and OTEK's Business Development Manager in China, Ms. Karen Jiang. Now in its 19th year, this awards' program has grown in stature and is a high profile celebration of Australian business success between Greater China and Australia. The Australia-China Business Awards are jointly organised by the Australian Chambers of Commerce (AustCham) in Hong Kong and Macau, Beijing and Shanghai.

OTEK is a privately held, leading Asia and Pacific based environmental, engineering and remediation consultancy company established in 1991. Its foundation was based on petroleum hydrocarbon assessment and remediation projects.
