Rescue Christmas from Unwanted Gifts!

Rainforest Rescue

rainforest-rescueRainforest Rescue is launching its campaign to save Christmas from unwanted gifts, while at the same time saving precious rainforest.

Published results of a survey commissioned by eBay show that nearly one billion dollars is spent on unwanted Christmas gifts each year. Rainforest Rescue is providing a solution to the problem of unwanted gifts at Christmas with special rainforest gifts that don't cost the earth. Each gift will help save the planet from climate change and preserve vital species biodiversity.

"More and more people are reassessing what Christmas is all about. Consumerism and materialism - owning more things - is not adding extra value to our lives" says Kelvin Davies, Rainforest Rescue CEO.

Purchasing a Plant a Rainforest gift will see a rainforest tree planted for your friends or loved ones in the Daintree rainforest. In the last two years in the Daintree, Rainforest Rescue planted 19,000 trees - the equivalent of 6 hectares of new rainforest. Your gift can boost this number by any amount you like, from as little as $25 per tree.

Despite being the most significant tropical rainforest in Australia, the Daintree is still at risk of development. Choosing a Daintree Buy Back and Protect Forever gift will help Rainforest Rescue to purchase a 14th property in the Daintree, and enable them to protect this special piece of rainforest from development into perpetuity.

You can also help rescue a Sumatran Orangutan from extinction with an Orangutan Habitat for Survival gift. Rainforest Rescue's project in Sumatra focuses on protecting the habitat of the last remaining Sumatran Orangutans from illegal logging and clearing. And with deforestation rates causing 25% of global emissions, protecting these rainforests really is a gift for everyone.

If you would like to help purchase and protect the Cloud Forests of Ecuador, then an Ecuador Save a Hectare gift is for you. With your purchase, Rainforest Rescue can link the Cotacahi-Cayapas Ecological Reserve and the Mindo Nambillo Reserve, providing an essential rainforest corridor for the endangered plants and animals that live there.

Rainforest Rescue is a not-for-profit organisation that has been protecting and restoring rainforests in Australia and internationally since 1998 by providing opportunities for individuals and businesses to Protect Rainforests Forever. Their projects re-establish rainforests through planting, maintenance and restoration programs, as well as purchasing and protecting high conservation value rainforest and preserving its biodiversity.

Most people know the feeling of receiving a gift that they don't need or want. Rainforest Rescue's Christmas campaign offers an easy and affordable way to find the perfect gift for everyone with unique rainforest gift cards that won't cost the earth.
