wind1‘Gold' sponsorship of new national standard for sustainable community development highlights Aurecon's leadership in sustainability services.

Global engineering and management consultancy, Aurecon is the first consultant to sponsor the Green Building Council Australia's (GBCA) new Green Star Communities tool.

Aurecon will contribute advice on best practice standards across planning engineering and management of sustainable communities to the Green Star Communities project.

The new tool is set to become a national voluntary standard for the planning, design and delivery of best practice sustainable community development projects across Australia.

With support from all of Australia's state government land organisations, some of Australia's largest local authorities, leading developers, academic institutions and industry, the GBCA's Chief Executive, Romilly Madew, says Green Star Communities is the GBCA's most ambitious project in its nine year history.

She added, "Aurecon's ‘gold' sponsor status demonstrates the company's commitment to being a leader in the provision of sustainability services to the built environment."

Tony Barry, Aurecon's Chief Executive Officer - Asia Pacific, says: "our mission is to provide our clients with the best advice when it comes to the planning and design of sustainable communities - our input to the Green Star Communities tool will help us deliver on this mission."
