Greenpeace
Peaceful direct action is core to Greenpeace campaigns. But what actually happens as these actions unfold? And how do the activists feel when they're on the frontline standing up for the environment? Our photo exhibition, 'Taking Action for a Renewable Energy Future', documents the occupation of two Queensland terminals used to export polluting coal. As Prime Minister Rudd was leading the Pacific Island Forum in Cairns, activists were calling on him to stop expanding Australia's coal exports and drastically reduce our emissions. As political leaders worldwide fail to provide a safe, renewable energy future, individuals are taking action. Civil disobedience and peaceful direct action on climate change are on the rise, as the issue becomes more urgent. Places are limited so please RSVP and be sure to include the names of your guests. Date: Tuesday 20 April
