Carbon Reduction Conference, Tuesday April 20 - Thursday 22 April 2010

AEC1131-CRTE-Conf-LogoNow in it's third year, the Carbon Reduction Conference, promises more than ever before to be a business event that should not be missed by Australian businesses. The Conference is conducted at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre over a three-day period and includes one free workshop day and two conference days for delegates.

Bookings and full program available at www.carbonconference.com.au

With a strong focus on business solutions for a carbon constraint economy, the Carbon Reduction Conference provides many important tools that will assist business managers to prepare for the inevitable low carbon future in Australia.

For the first time in its history, the conference organiser, Australian Exhibitions & Conferences Pty Ltd, has partnered with three key organisations to provide a series of in depth workshops, including case studies from leading organisations: Melbourne's CitySwitch Program, the EPA's Carbon Innovators Network and Sustainability Victoria.

The workshop day will kick off with the launch of the CitySwitch Green Office Program, a national energy efficiency initiative that works with office tenants to assist them to improve their environmental performance and reduce operating costs.

Other key elements of the workshop include information on reducing carbon emissions, water conservation and waste management, all designed to transform climate change from a business cost to a business opportunity.

Day two of the conference will provide delegates with an insight into the CPRS, and how to manage and measure their carbon footprints. Other topics on this day include the implications of purchasing renewable energy and how to implement biodiesel as an alternative fuel for transportation.

The third and last day of the conference will have a focus on sustainability in commercial buildings (especially relevant given recent introduction of the Building Energy Efficiency Disclosure Bill 2010 by The Hon. Greg Combet, AM, MP, earlier this month which will impact on all commercial buildings greater than 2,000sqms), how to create an energy efficient workforce, the marketing of ‘being green' and investing in low carbon technologies.

Listen to the case study of a company that went from almost bust to becoming a leader in its field by engaging the right ‘greening' programs.

The Carbon Reduction Conference is all about business taking the initiatives and facing the challenges of an unavoidable low carbon future head on. By taking part in this event, CEOs and Managers will be able to start ‘future proofing' and create growth in their organisations.

Featuring 20+ speakers including:

  • Anthea Harris, Assistant Secretary, Carbon Market Linkages Branch, Emissions Trading Division, Department of Climate Change - An Update on the Proposed Carbon Reduction Scheme
