Voters need real leadership on climate change

240-stephen-campbell-greenpeaceThe Fairfax-Nielsen poll (Monday February 8, 2010) showing a 10% drop in support for the government's emission trading scheme whilst showing little support for the coalition's broad approach to climate change, reflects the lack of leadership of both parties.

"It's hardly surprising that voters are losing enthusiasm faced with two almost uninspiring and ineffective climate change policies," said Greenpeace Head of Campaigns, Stephen Campbell.

"Instead of plans that will reward polluters and fail to reduce our CO2 emissions, Australia's politicians need to come up with a clear plan that moves us away from polluting power and moves us towards an energy revolution which delivers for both the economy and the environment," said Campbell.
